Contents Page Ideas:
Articles featured in the magazine-
Number of column for the contents page-
2 to 3 columns (most likely 3).
Images-
- Images covering the top half of the contents page - straight and at an angle.
- Page numbers for where you can find the articles.
- less likely to have boxes around them.
Subheadings for articles-
- Magazine cover articles (on the cover).
- Other true stories.
Ways to get in touch-
- Coloured box in the bottom left hand corner where there will be @'s and other ways to find the magazines social media's and ways to get in touch. Not completely touching the bottom of the magazine page.
Layout in general-
- Article lists - contents list for page numbers.
- Subheadings.
- Ways to get in touch - relies on the masthead name to sort out possible link addresses.
- Images on the top half of the contents page - pages numbers to link to where you'd find the article to go along with the photos.
- Stick to the same colour palette as the cover.
- Lines to section of where the article names start and end - keeping it packed neatly and separate from the images and anything else on the page - next to the ways to get in touch box - bottom right hand side of the page, not at the bottom as there will be a page number + the magazine name - will be separated from the article names because of the lines.
Things that need to be done - FRONT COVER:
- Select a colour for the background of the magazine cover (from colour palette list).
- Make a list of possible people to be photographed.
- Take a range of images (for main image) and decide between using a medium close up or a mid shot. - have taken some but still need to bring them in.
- Sort out cover lines.
- Decide what images I want to use for the images to go alongside the cover lines on the front cover.
- Think of a name for the magazine - masthead.
- Make the masthead, using the plan of red and white, common masthead colours.
- Decide on Article page numbers to go on the front cover with the images and cover lines.
- Plan the layout using indesign.
Things that need to be done - CONTENTS PAGE:
- Article list - divide into whats more important to go on the magazine cover.
- Subheadings to split the articles on the list into.
- Images based around something at the top half of the contents page, page numbers to link to where in the magazine you can find them.
- Stick to the same colour palette as the cover of the magazine
- Have a 'ways to get in touch', suggests that its professional, links to the masthead/name of the magazine.
- Use shape in the left hand corner, for ways to get in touch, and for images page numbers on the contents page.
- Lines - to separate sections
